Live Review and Brain Festival
Join us for a one-of-a-kind community science event where young children and teens help scientists communicate their research more effectively! The Frontiers for Young Minds Live Review is a fun event open to children, families, and the whole community!
After the Live Review, the Brain Explorer Academy children will host a Brain Festival, where you can interact with brain scientists from all around the world, touch real human brains and sheep brains, test your brain power with mind benders, create neuron models and learn about the famous patient H.M.
The 2023 Live Review and Brain Festival is generously funded by a grant from:
Join us on Saturday April 29, 2023 at 10:00AM in Breakwater Ballroom at the Waterfront Beach Resort, Huntington Beach.
The Live Review and Brain Festival will be held as part of the 2023 International Conference on Learning and Memory.
Watch children and teens review the work of distinguished neuroscientists!
On Saturday morning April 29, 2023, the scientific community at the 2023 International Conference on Learning and Memory in Huntington Beach will come together with the children and teens of Orange County, California for an exciting, fun and educational event.
Host and Moderator: Manuella Yassa (UC Irvine)
Who are the reviewers?
The review panel will made up of children and teens from Orange County, California who are part of the Spring 2023 cohort of the Brain Explorer Academy (BEA) of the Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory. These children have been spending their Saturday mornings with the scientists at the University of California, Irvine exploring the brain and learning about the scientific process and scientific communication.
Who are the science mentors?
The scientists who have been working with the children in the BEA are undergraduates, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty of the CNLM's Ambassador Program. Though they come from various departments at UC Irvine, they all have a passion for sharing brain science with the community.
